Dave Wodnicki hailing from Michigan, USA, is a very skilful finger-style guitarist who's influences come among others from several great folk artists as Leo Kottke, Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, Joe Pass & Christopher Parkening. Guitarioso is a noteworthy folk CD with classical and jazzy references. The techniques used are skilled and Dave plays in a passionate and reflective atmosphere. Forever Friends, with rich overtones and a solid melody line is very impressive. Yonder Homestead Waits is a flowing ballad with soothing elements and The Kite with cadenced rhythms has a moody groove. Anthem for the Broken with the melancholic ambiance is very smooth and touching. Dave plays a custom built Sheldon Schwartz acoustic guitar with a very expressive and clear sound, which reminds one foremost of a Taylor guitar. There are 3 covers on this album among an alluring arrangement of Shenandoah. Dave Wodnicki has a definitive own signature with top-notch techniques that certainly puts him between the finest finger-style players in the circuit.
